ALCF is a patient-founded organization that works to accelerate the discovery of early detection methods and to improve clinical outcomes through scientific and technological advancements. Their focus is on providing hope to those suffering with lung cancer by concentrating on funding research, providing patient support, education, empowerment, awareness, and giving patients and families a road map to guide them and a support system to anchor them.
CRI is dedicated to the advancement of immunotherapy for cancer. It raises funds and then offers research grants to scientists who are progressing this field. It also connects patients with cancer immunotherapy (or I/O) clinical trials and other patients and caregivers considering treatment with immuno-oncology.
CSC provides the highest quality social and emotional support for all people impacted by cancer through a network of more than 50 licensed affiliates, over 100 satellite locations, and a vibrant online community. Within this network, CSC offers specific education and support programs for people affected by lung cancer.
CancerCare understands the emotional challenges of people with all cancers, including lung cancer, and provides a wide range of free services to folks diagnosed and those who care for them. It offers educational workshops as well as free online, telephone, and face-to-face counseling through groups and individual opportunities. A caring staff of professional oncology social workers also provides education, financial assistance, and practical information.
Free to Breathe is funding research, helping patients understand their treatment options, increasing patient participation in clinical trials, and pushing to make molecular tumor testing a standard of care.
The Lung Cancer Alliance is the leading organization dedicated to saving lives and advancing research in lung cancer by empowering those living with the illness and those at risk. They offer personalized support, information, and referral services at no cost through a team of trained, dedicated staff members. They also advocate for increased lung cancer research funding and equitable access, coverage and reimbursement for screening, treatment, diagnostics, and testing. Furthermore, the Lung Cancer Alliance conducts nationwide education campaigns about the disease, risk and early detection.
LCFA’s mission is the dramatic improvement in survivorship of lung cancer patients through the funding of transformative science, with the ultimate goal of curing the disease. To accomplish this, LCFA will work to raise both the funds and the national profile of lung cancer in order to substantially increase support of innovative and groundbreaking research efforts.
